Losing Money Due To Emotions

Certain actions, such as winning or losing money, are closely linked to a person’s emotions. Most of the time, money is not acquired or wasted for objective reasons. In other words, one can say that money is a symbolic object. As such, your brain creates different meanings for it and different ways of dealing with it. It always takes into account that it is practically a general form of dividend.

What makes you make or lose money is the decisions you make.

It goes deeper than having a lot of money or having little money. The defining aspect is how you manage your wealth. Fortune has been given amulet status. We live in a world that has slowly turned everything into buyable and salable objects.

Many people have psychological scars, due to lack of resources along with a sensitive abandonment. Maybe their parents had to leave them behind to go and make money. It is also likely that at some point they were ashamed of their lack of resources. In these particular cases, money is a complex problem that often leads to several problems.

Lose money: they fly out of your wallet.

Emotions and money: Losing money and pretending

One factor that can make you lose money is that you hate your life. You are convinced that the lack of financial resources is the reason why you are dissatisfied with life. So you trick yourself into thinking that your value would increase if you had money.

Therefore, you associate money with satisfaction. You can not imagine a good situation that does not involve consumption. And since you have limited resources, dissatisfaction becomes a way of life.

Many times you “solve” the problem of pretending you have money. You feel a strong attraction to status symbols. You lose money by spending it on unnecessary brands and things. Your goal is to experience “how it feels to have a lot of money” and to feel complete and satisfied… at least for a moment.

Emotions and money: Losing money to fill a gap

This situation is similar to the previous one. The difference is that, in this situation, frustration leads to impulsive and compulsive actions. People in this category literally can not manage to see a product on sale and not buy it. Lots of useless things are governed by the need to keep buying things.

They subconsciously try to satisfy other, deeper shortcomings. But since they are not aware of this, they are like a bottomless pit. The appetite for acquiring new things is insatiable. Supermarkets love this type of consumer and help them waste money with little tricks. They bombard these individuals with advertisements on non-existent sales.

In fact, they first increase the price artificially. Later, they lower it to normal price again to make it look like a bargain. They make it easy for customers to buy, buy and buy. Finally, even though these customers may be able to pay the bill, they feel empty.

And so this vicious circle begins again.

The incompleteness returns

There are many unconscious factors involved in money management. Today, happiness is closely linked to consumption. It is an idea that money has the power to fix a person’s damaged self-esteem. It will seemingly make sense for a depressing life.

Thus, loss of money tends to be a consequence of giving it the lead role in life. It is paradoxical, but an unnatural desire to have a fortune leads to the loss of it. The difference between the real value of money and the meaning one allows it leads to eccentric and unwise actions. Money and consumption are used as means to solve difficult situations of another rank.

Either way, losing money ends up becoming commonplace. Finally, it reaffirms one’s dissatisfaction and is the reason why many people experience their inner shortcomings again, with renewed strength.

In the end, winning or losing money becomes just a cloud of smoke. Perhaps, far down, financial resources are not the issue. Maybe your problem is your unmet needs growing only because money can not fill it.

Thus, it is this emptiness that maintains the unsatisfied desire. You get money, but it does not help you. It actually only helps you to cover up difficulties and pains you are not willing to face.
